Australian accordionist and Texas/Arizona based pianist Collin Shook first met at the Chick Corea Music Workshop held in 2012. A year later, Richard was in Las Cruces NM and boarded a Greyhound bus to meet up with Collin's trio in Tuscon, Arizona, where this album was recorded over two days by Bill Cashman at Cavern Studios.

An album of contemporary jazz originals by Richard and Collin together with a traditional folk tune, The Laurel Tree re-imagined for the quartet. Blending jazz and folk influences, the music reflects the connection of the players to the deserts of Arizona and Australia.
